Jewish-American lyricist and composer Stephen Sondheim is credited with revitalizing American musicals. He was responsible for composing the music and writing the lyrics for many celebrated Broadway musicals, including "Sweeney Todd," "Into the Woods," "Company," "West Side Story," and "Sunday in the Park with George," among others. Sondheim's work has earned him numerous awards and accolades, and he is widely regarded as one of the greatest figures in the history of musical theater. Vic Schioppo and Bethe Burns for a concert are coming back to the Museum for a tribute concert honoring the memory of Stephen Sondheim.
